Biography

Ali Zorrie Habib– Artist, Inventor, and Distinguished Carpet Master

Ali Zorrie Habib, born in 1945 in Tabriz, began carpet weaving at the age of seven and invented the art of volume weaving at thirteen. His passion for carpet weaving started in childhood, and by the age of twenty, he had established a workshop with 120 workers and 50 exquisite weaving machines. During that time, he served as the representative of Tabriz’s tapestry weavers and remained active in this field until the revolution.

After the revolution, he moved to Mashhad, where he participated in over 40 exhibitions and won numerous awards. He earned a PhD in Carpet Studies and was recognized as a distinguished national artist. As a member of the country’s elite, he began teaching at the age of thirty in various institutions, including Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Birjand, Esfarayen, Quchan, and universities in North and South Khorasan, as well as in welfare organizations, the Imam Khomeini Relief Committee, and technical and vocational training centers.

Currently, he manages an educational institute and remains actively engaged in artistic and educational pursuits. All his students hold higher education degrees, and he grants them professional technical certificates. Ultimately, he has published a book featuring his life experiences and a collection of his works.
