Behgam Namazian

Biography

I am Behgam Namazian and on the hottest day of the year; I was born in the middle of the summer of 1942 in one of the cities of Lorestan, but soon Shiraz became the city of my life forever, with all its beauty and poetic inspiration!
No doubt; The first alphabet of every artist's artistic taste; geography; mother tongue; And culture and politeness is his land, and because of this, I have always experienced suffering and happiness together...

An ancient and rich culture and civilization in the geography of the Middle East!
I loved painting since I was a child and used to practice its alphabet, but I am one of those painters who first lived and experienced and then found the opportunity to paint. I have taught myself to draw.
I presented my bitter feeling of silent longing for the women in my life with an innovative technique in my first exhibition, and I realized that I can only deal with what I have experienced.
Women have been the subject of my paintings for many years. I wanted to break the recurring stereotype of "comedic effect" by visualizing pain in a woman's body.
After that, collage was a process that was formed unconsciously in my works. The topic of my collages was the struggle and unattainable dreams of the women of my land.
Social developments made collages more abstract and color entered their background. Showing the prison outside and inside; prisons as large as a community became my work concern.
Decay; the inevitability of war and conflict and the boredom of a world that is full of noise but no one's voice reaches anyone; Jan is the source of my works and biography.
