No Day Like the Day of Kermak, O Aba Abdillah
Artist: Marjan EsfandiMilajerdi
The overall shape is that of a cypress tree in the desert, which, as you know, symbolizes freedom and Aba Abdillah (Imam Hussein). The palm of mourning in desert regions also has this form. Additionally, the sacred name is designed like a drop of water, representing the life-giving force that sustains all existence. The water, which was the dowry of his mother, was denied to Imam Hussein (AS) and his companions on the day of Ashura. On the other hand, the overall form also resembles a drop of dried blood on the ground. The choice of background color, the texture of the earth and blood, and the color of the writing all suggest dried blood. The image of birds in flight, the celestial ones mourning the tragedy, symbolize the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS) and the calamity of Ashura. On the day of Ashura, from the soil of Aba Abdillah, blood flows.
