Abolfazl Poolad developed an interest in wooden arts at the age of 10, starting to learn and work in the field professionally that same year. He has participated in over 50 national and international exhibitions, winning numerous awards, including the gold medal in the Technical Skill Olympiad. He is also a representative youth of the country. By familiarizing himself with painting, drawing, and sculpture, he was able to transform marquetry, a traditional craft, into a branch of visual arts. Using old Iranian techniques to express contemporary concepts requires knowledge and skill in both traditional crafts and visual arts. Currently, he is working in the fields of teaching and researching visual marquetry and continues to create conceptual wood marquetry collections. His strong interest in research and the lack of resources in the field led him to author, translate, and publish several books in this area.
