Biography
  • Ali Tousi sani was born on August 23, 1965, in Sabzevar, Iran. He has had a passion for painting, calligraphy, and physical fitness from a young age. He founded the Sabzevar Calligraphers Association and served as its instructor and director for 11 years. In 2012, he achieved the esteemed Mastery Certificate and a second-degree art credential.

  • His notable mentors in Nastaliq script include Masters Amirkhani, Sasani, Qa'em Maqami, and Falsafi. In the field of Shekasteh script, he was guided by Master Esmaeili Mod. He began his professional journey in calligraphy in 1984 at the Neishabur branch of the Calligraphers Association of Iran.

  • Over the years, Ali Tousi Sani has held more than 15 solo exhibitions and participated actively in numerous group exhibitions and national festivals across the country. He has represented Sabzevar's artists in international exhibitions, such as a calligraphy showcase in Turkey. Among his notable achievements are winning first and third places at the National Festival of "Ghorban to Ghadir" in Birjand in 2006 and Zahedan in 2007. In 2011, he won first place at the National Festival of Razavi Typography and was honored in the "Razavi Typography Masters" category of the same festival in Mashhad.

  • In 2014, he served as a jury member and specialist for the 13th Razavi National Calligraphy Festival. He also played a significant role as the executive secretary for three regional calligraphy festivals titled "Mashq-e Ab" in Sabzevar from 2006 to 2008. His published works include the book "Rasm al-Khatt-e Ab" (1996), alongside numerous calligraphy works for posters and postcards.

  • Ali Tousi Sani has an extensive teaching background, having taught calligraphy at the Calligraphers Association, teacher training universities, Azad University, and Sabzevar Medical University. He has also conducted courses at institutions like the Center for Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults, the Sura House, and the Foundation for Veterans. After retiring from the Water and Wastewater Company, where he worked in public relations, he continued to teach calligraphy both in the Calligraphers Association and his own private school, offering professional courses from beginner to advanced levels.

  • His artistic portfolio includes over 2,500 calligraphy pieces, including the calligraphy of Khayyam's quatrains, 19 letters of Imam Ali (PBUH) to Malik Ashtar, and the creation of numerous posters and postcards. Among his most celebrated works is the calligraphy of the poem "Bani Adam" by Saadi, presented by the Islamic Republic of Iran to Ban Ki-moon, the former Secretary-General of the United Nations.

  • Ali Tousi Sani is also an innovator in "Khatashi," a new style of painting calligraphy. He firmly believes that calligraphy is one of the purest, most beautiful, and challenging art forms, requiring years of devotion and perseverance.
