I am Elaheh Jafari, born in Isfahan, Iran, on July 21, 1991.
My artistic activities started when I was 20, with calligraphy (Nastaliq, Kufi, and Thuluth scripts). Meanwhile, I have been interested and active in philosophy study, modern arts,graphics, and typography. Having got familiar with the graphical capacities of Persian and Arabic letters (ignoring their reading feasibilities), primarily through a thorough survey of Iranian Siah-Mashq scripts, I was looking for a distinctive and specific method in order of integration between Iranian Calligraphy and modern international art. This is because of my belief not only in the high visual capacity of the Siah-Mashq script but also in the fact that the only possible way to rescue traditional calligraphy from its restrictive hundred years aged framework is to utilize the visual potential of the Siah-Mashq script.
