Biography
  • Elementary and Middle School Education: Completed elementary education at Shahid Mahmoud Chavoushan School and middle school at Shahid Mohammad Baqer Sadr School in Taqiabad. Simultaneously, began learning calligraphy under Master Mahmoud Namjoo and won first place in a provincial calligraphy competition focused on the theme of Imam Reza (PBUH).

  • High School Education and Early Career: Completed high school education in Mashhad, specializing in Traditional and Islamic Arts at the Astan Quds Razavi, with a focus on traditional graphics. Collaborated with workshops in the sacred courtyards of Goharshad and Quds, working in mosaic tiles, seven-color tiles, mirror work, traditional patterns, and knotting. After obtaining a diploma in Traditional Graphics and completing military service in 2000, began working as a restorer of manuscripts and documents at the central library of the illuminated shrine of Imam Reza (PBUH).

  • Training in Restoration: Under the guidance of Dr. Hamid Lotfi, took courses in manuscript and document restoration (paper works), construction of various types of leather covers, including embossed, scorched, and inlaid leather, and papermaking. Studied bookbinding of printed books with Dr. Seyed Ali Tabatabaei.

Achievements:

  1. Distinguished Calligraphy Certificate: Obtained from the Iranian Calligraphers Association in 1997.

  2. Superior Calligraphy Certificate: Achieved in Nastaliq, Shekasteh-Nastaliq, and Iranian Naskh from the Iranian Calligraphers Association in 2004. Instructors included Masters Mahmoud Namjoo, Ali Karimi, the late Mostafa Mahdizadeh (Nastaliq), Master Hadi Zolriyastein (Shekasteh-Nastaliq), and Master Fazel Neyshabouri (Iranian Naskh).

  3. Quranic Exhibition in Kuwait: Participated in November 2023, showcasing exquisite Quranic works in traditional binding, including a panel of Quranic verses, two album leaves of Surah Yasin and Surah Rahman, and a scroll of Surah Yasin by Master Ebadi.

  4. Certificate of Appreciation: Received for participating in the exhibition, signed by the Minister of Culture of Kuwait.

  5. First Place in National Quranic Illuminations Biennial: Won in 2010 for two works (a scorched and inlaid leather cover) from the Institute of Artistic Creations of Astan Quds Razavi.

  6. First-Class Artistic Degree in Restoration: Achieved in 2019 for manuscript and paper restoration from the Evaluation Council of Artists, Poets, and Writers under the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.

  7. Outstanding Restorer Title: Awarded in 2012 for the restoration of paper works and Quranic manuscripts, as well as various leather covers, at the 12th Ceremony of Manuscript Supporters, held by the Library of Parliament and the National Archives Center in Shiraz.

  8. "Luxurious Quran Cover" Recognition: Selected among the top 10 cultural and artistic products of Astan Quds during the Karamat Decade in 2013.

  9. Restoration of Rare Quran: Restored a 7th-century Quran (Timurid period) and created the largest scorched and inlaid leather cover at the Central Library of Astan Quds Razavi in 2006.

  10. Training International Restorers: Taught Quranic manuscript restoration and leather cover construction to Seyed Kamal Tabatabaei, a restorer at the Library of Ataba Abbasi (Iraq), in 2016.

  11. Symposium Participation in Iraq: Invited to participate in a symposium on Quranic manuscript restoration with master craftsmen and Quranic practitioners from 30 Islamic countries in 2017.

  12. Lecture and Workshop at University of Art, Isfahan: Invited to deliver a lecture and conduct a workshop on luxurious Quranic inlaid and scorched leather covers and embossed covers in 2014.

  13. Collaboration with National Handicrafts Secretariat: Trained painting art teachers nationwide on luxurious Quranic cover construction during the 2019-2020 academic year.

  14. International Calligraphy Festival "Yas Yasin": Participated in 2018, with work selected for exhibition tours.

Notable Works:

  1. Restoration of a Vellum Quran: From the 3rd century AH, completed in 2011.

  2. Restoration of Rare Quran: Written in Turkistani script, dating to the 8th century, restored in 2003.

  3. Creation of Exquisite Album Leaves: Produced from works by renowned calligraphers such as Ahmad Neyrizi, Mohammad Reza Kalhor, Darvish Abdolmajid Taleqani, Mir Ali Heravi, Vesal Shirazi, Reza Abbasi, Abdolwahab Shirazi, and Mirza Gholamreza Esfahani.

  4. Papier-Mâché and Leatherwork: Involved in dubbing leather and paper, making various types of pen cases, albums, and mirror frames.

  5. Extensive Quranic Manuscript Restoration: Restored over 1,000 manuscripts of the Quran and Nahj al-Balagha from the 3rd century to the Qajar period.

  6. Restoration of Historical Documents: Restored over 60,000 historical documents from the Safavid and Qajar periods.

  7. Restoration of Handwritten Qurans: Restored more than 500 rare handwritten Qurans gifted by the Supreme Leader.

  8. Restoration of Rare 6th-Century Quran: Involved in the restoration of a rare handwritten Quran.

  9. Restoration of Exquisite Quranic Booklets: Restored more than 100 Quranic booklets from the 3rd to the 5th century AH.

  10. Luxurious Quran Cover Creation: Created for the Timurid period Quran (Ibrahim Sultan), known as the "Seventeen-Minute Quran."

  11. Luxurious Scorched Leather Cover for 7th-Century Quran: Created through replication for the Institute of Artistic Creations of Astan Quds Razavi.

  12. Calligraphy of Quran's Last Part: In Naskh script on handmade paper, currently in the process of illumination.

Exhibition Participation:

  1. First Symposium on Manuscript Restoration: Held a workshop on inlaid leather cover construction at the Sacred Shrine of Lady Fatima Masoumeh (PBUH) in Qom in 2008.

  2. International Quran and Etrat Exhibition in Mashhad: Participated in exhibitions organized by the Department of Preservation and Restoration of Cultural and Artistic Works of the Central Library of Astan Quds Razavi.

  3. Second Biennial Festival of Quranic Illuminations: Participated in the galleries of Reza Razavi, Mirak Gallery, Soltan Ali Mashhadi, and at the Imam Ali Museum of Arts in Tehran.

  4. Exhibition on Paper Works and Bookbinding in Kish: Participated in 2012 (Enduring Heritage).

  5. "Spring of the Quran" Exhibition in Karbala: Organized by the Supreme Cultural Council and the Islamic Research Foundation of Astan Quds Razavi.
