Biography

Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini was born in 1979 in Sabzevar, Razavi Khorasan Province, Iran, where he currently resides. Although his birthplace is a town on the edge of the desert, from childhood, he was fascinated by the world of flowers, arabesques, and the intricate whirls of Islamic and Persian motifs. Often, he would immerse himself in the mystical patterns of carpets in his father's shop or lose himself in the celestial allure of mosque tiles. This passion led him to pursue the art of Tazhib (Islamic illumination) in 1996 under the guidance of Ali Reza Ghazi in his hometown.

From 1998 to 2000, he attended specialized art classes in the field of Persian miniature painting in Mashhad under the tutelage of university professors, earning an Excellence Certificate in Persian Miniature Painting from the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance. He is also an honorary member of the Tehran Visual Arts Development Institute. In 2002, he was invited by the Sabzevar Department of Education to teach courses on Persian miniature painting and later obtained an Instructor’s License in Tazhib from the Technical and Vocational Training Organization of Iran.

Driven by his thirst for knowledge and mastery, he sought mentorship under the distinguished master Mohammad Baqer Aqamiri, enriching his artistic life with the honor of being his student. In 2011, he received a Level 2 Art Certificate (equivalent to a master's degree in arts) from the Traditional Arts Evaluation Council of Iran, as per the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution's resolution (No. 477, dated April 10, 2001).

Hosseini has extensive teaching experience, including at the Art House of Sooreh in Sabzevar, the Visual Arts Association, the Iran Calligraphy Association (Sabzevar branch), the Artists' Association, Allameh Tabatabai University (Farhangian University), the Sabzevar Department of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism, and the Sabzevar Technical and Vocational University for Women. He is currently a board member and treasurer of the Handicrafts and Traditional Arts Guild Association. Holding a master's degree in Art Economics, he actively teaches traditional motifs, geometric patterns, and their applications in designing clothes, carpets, tiles, engraving, Tazhib, and Persian miniature painting.
